Born in 1939 in Baltimore and working as an artist on Jackson Square since 1966, Barbara Yochum has been one of the most recognizable and prolific New Orleans artists over the last century. Her work reflects the mysterious magic of the French Quarter through the lens of whimsical fantasy. Whether capturing ethereal moments in Storyville’s history or dreamy mermaid scenes, Yochum’s work is unique, compelling, provoking, and her name will forever be connected to the legends of New Orleans.
