| Hi, I thought you might like to know a
little bit about me.
I decided to be an artist when I was five years old, and I've been
painting for most of my life. I never considered being anything
else.
I studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia
for five years. Two and a half of those years I attended on a PAFA
scholarship, and two years were funded by a Ford Foundation Grant.
Eventually my father requested that I get a job so that he could
retire. I received a job offer from Louisiana State University in
New Orleans. I came to New Orleans expecting to teach. Instead,
I decided to work on Jackson Square, where artists can do portraits
and sell their paintings. I have been doing portraits in pastel
and selling my paintings there ever since. It is as close to a constant
source of income as an artist can get!
Recently, I have begun doing outdoor juried art shows around the
United States. I enjoy traveling and meeting other artists.
In case you're wondering why I paint these subjects, I have always
been interested in forest spirits, mermaids, angels and fairies.
I was born yearning for magic. When I was little I used to make
wings from crepe paper, hoping that somehow I would be able to fly.
I have always wanted to be magical and to swim fast and fly high.
I hope you enjoy my work. Please contact
me to learn more about any of the paintings you see here. Thank
you! |
